KSAZ LMA'd

I think Ron transcribes it on a 33 RPM 14-inch wax disc down in Pueblo Gardens.

Nah, that's a joke. He automates it on those old KNDE reels to reel machines.

KSAZ UPDATE

The reason that ''Dancin' Dan's'' show did not air on sat 1/6 was computer op error caused by a missing file name.

BTW, Dan's show has been moved to sat/sun mornings at 0600, effective 1/13/07...

Stay Tuned, the saga plays on.

Computer op error? Missing file name? Surely you can't be serious!
(We'll get the "don't call me Shirley" response out of the way first.;D)

The Giant 580 runs on an Audio Vault (or equivalent)? Was this recently
installed as part of the Barna-zation of the station? It just seems--
primarily from the "sound" of elements on the Dead-Air Disco Polka--
that turntables, cart machines, reel-to-reel and, yes, cassette decks
were still in vogue.

Oooh boy, sounds like Barna's doing an end-around to kill off the show.

The demos are dying--literally and figuratively--and one wonders if the
remaining target audience is going to be up that early in the AM.

Closed circuit for Dancin' Dan: further claims that the show can be heard
"all over Arizona" will be totally inaccurate through February and then at
least partially so until the first broadcast in April.

My Bad...

1st Graf in my previous post should have read-
"Missing file name caused by computer op error." Sorry for any confusion...

Sure they are. They're up even earlier. That's why Sat 6a-10a is often the best weekend daypart on many news/talk, standards, etc. stations.

But I do like "Barna-zation". Has a nice ring to it.

The very unique and narrow target demo for Dan is not your typical 65+ group,
but they may well be up early, at least when it gets light earlier and it warms up.

By April they'll get the Giant 580 back at 0600 instead of the puny 390 watts
now trying to cut through the ether at that hour.

Meanwhile, as a radio geek, I'll kind of miss this bizarre little show up here in the 'Tuke.

Nurse Jeff just informed me Dancin' Dan Babich will testify on behalf of former 3 TVer Kim Dillon. We just wonder if it'll be the International version of Dan, or the one from Marana? With the change in his hours, the Nurse and I can't pick up the show at the Buckeye Media Hut. Can anyone record it and put it on an 8 track for us to enjoy?

Hey Doc! Nice to see you here in the Naked Pueblo. I thought I saw a Gremlin parked over at the Bum Steer the other day. Guess it's been awhile since you've been here and hadn't heard that it closed. You need to check out the "Radio Jobs" thread. Hendrie is on the loose.

Dancin Dan testifying...as a character reference or will he testify that certain music drove her the boosting spree?

We could ask Katie to "needle drop it" onto another 16-inch ET platter for you after she makes her aircheck dubs on the lathe.
