The huge difference to me is the programming from the translator is actually found elsewhere OTA.So, uh, where's all the uproar from the collective?

True, K217GB made more sense for its prior formats under KTRU, KUHA and KXNG, but the current coverage area is a complete mismatch for Vida Unida.I always thought it was a useless signal repeating 91.7. At least it has a purpose
Hope Media Group has submitted a Change of Primary Station Notification for K217GB to the FCC:
Draft Copy « Licensing and Management System « FCC
Licensing and Management Systementerpriseefiling.fcc.gov
That's great, SRG. I hope the next time certain other translator operators in Houston change a primary station without first notifying the FCC, there's as much restraint in jumping to conclusions as there has been to this change for HMG. That's the point I'm making, partner. Had it been certain others, there would be a thread dedicated to another illegal translator activity.

I kind of wondered what would happen if a Houston-based translator was involved in something that lies in a grey area, like this notification not preceding the actual change in primary station for the facility, and it wasn't one of the Mexican preachers who owned it. I got the answer I was looking for.
I dont know the translator rules that well.. but do they have to notify the same day they change or is it like an STA filing, 10 days to notify, 30 days to ask for permission?
Well, guess what, an update to my thread bump: Worship 24/7 is now on a new HD-2 of KHVU, so I would assume that K217GB is still carrying it, and not Vida Unida.Thread bump: So much for the Worship 24/7 format in Houston…Hope Media Group today filed to change the primary station of K217GB 91.3 back to KHVU. Meanwhile the HD-2 of KSBJ is now gone.
Maybe Worship wasn’t giving enough donations. Or maybe NGEN coming to 89.3. HD2Well, guess what, an update to my thread bump: Worship 24/7 is now on a new HD-2 of KHVU, so I would assume that K217GB is still carrying it, and not Vida Unida.
Should have checked 91.7 when I made my original post, but the thought of the subchannel being moved didn’t occur to me. Why would they move Worship 24/7 to a lesser signal?
And I can confirm that it has not returned to air Vida Unida. It’s still broadcasting that worship station on 91.3Thread bump: So much for the Worship 24/7 format in Houston…Hope Media Group today filed to change the primary station of K217GB 91.3 back to KHVU. Can someone in the coverage area of K217GB confirm it has returned to airing Vida Unida?
Or perhaps cheaper to lease the HD-2 on 91.7 instead of 89.3.Maybe Worship wasn’t giving enough donations.
