KSBJ Translator on 99.5

While tuning around this afternoon I discovered the KSBJ translator in Sugar Land on the air on 99.5. Fairly decent signal at my Cy-Fair location, about 20 miles away from the transmitter. When did this make it back on the air? Hadn't heard it recently.

Radio-Locator and the FCC online database have a construction permit for the 99.5 frequency being issued this past March 11. Guess the objections regarding interference to KSHN were set aside?

New call sign for this facility is K258BZ.

Never mind my comment about KSHN, brain fade...KSHN is of course on 99.9, so not an issue here. The KSBJ translator at one point was going to be co-channel, but not now.

Can't hear it where I am. Are they running the main channel programming on it; or the kid stuff that's running on HD-2?

It may still be in testing phase, so this transmitter might not be continuously on the air. Was running the main channel programming when I heard it.

Using this station for an analog rebroadcast of the "N-Gen" HD-2 format wouldn't be a bad idea, and is apparently legal under current FCC regs.
