I was driving towards Liberty this afternoon and noticed KSBJ was off the air. A couple of hours later, I noticed they were back on. Do you think maybe they were off the air replacing the part(s) needed to get back up to their licensed ERP?

I've noticed them off the air several times the past few weeks. Once they were severely off frequency (almost to 89.5) before powering down.

This is from the KSBJ website. I will just give the information as to the time table.

October 10th the new antenna left factory in Indiana and should have been in Houston by the 12th (Thursday). Once they begin to hang the antenna it should be a two week process to get everything finished.

To help you understand why it takes so long, you have to visualize what contitutes our antenna. Each of the ten bays is three to four feet across and weighs hundreds of pounds. When we "hang" the antenna, we have to do it one bay at a time, and each bay can occupy the better part of a day to complete.

This is from the KSBJ eNewsletter. When we complete the repair work, we will have a brand new digital ready antenna.. We have begun the process of purchasing the HD transmitter and related equipment. We will be able to move from repairing the damage right into the installation of the HD transmission system.
