KSCS & KTYS

They've got a longstanding habit of not going anywhere.

Sorry to burst everyones bubble, but the Twister is not going anywhere for now....

You don't know that, don't people who work at that station realize how bad their ratings are?

Yea, but this is the biggest hit that station has taken in its personnel since it launched. And that decision alone should be seen as an indication that changes are afoot. Like with everything in radio right now, it's all about not having to spend money.

If Citadel dumps the twister the Wolf will increase it's lead over KSCS, That was the reason for the birth of the Twister to take away Wolf's 18-34 which they accomplished. Too bad the lame pd at kscs (hunter?) did not create major market radio in the 5th largest market and his "Arrogance" cost him his job.

Personally i would like to see another oldies station. I especially like Scott Shannon's true oldies but it will never beat KLUV.

I believe The Twister has hit an all time low today with the latest trend. Does 0.8 really help KSCS? KSCS is tanking compared to where they used to be anyway.

0.8 only helps if they're taking it ONLY from KPLX. Which means if the music is seperated enough on the 2 stations (KSCS and Twisty) that Twisters atack on the 18-34 of the WOlf doesn't also cannabilize KSCS.

I'll freely admit that country is NOT my strong suit, but from what I hear, from what I read, the Twister and KSCS aren't that different musically that there wouldn't be some cannibalization.

Speaking as a listener and not a radio jock or the like, I listen to the Twister only during Alan Pecks's air time. I've meet him at community events. I think he's great. I'm 54, but I've seen how he interacts with the younger generation, specifically 16 - 18 year olds. They connect with him. I don't know much about ratings, but I do know kids and what motivates them. The format can change from what it is currently, but I do hope that Alan stays in place.

Have you seen their new air-shift schedule? 6am-noon, noon-7pm & 7pm-midnight.

Its all thats left of the COuntry Format of
WBAP
soo....
TRUE OLDIES 96.7 or better yet...
TRUE OLDIES 99.5 :p

25-54 rank 5 am to midnight m-sun.
KESS, KLNO & KHKS (Tie), KVIL. KKDA. KLTY, KDMX, KTCK, KEGL, KRNB, KJKK, KPLX, KLUV, KSOC, KBFB, KMVK, KDGE, KSCS, KZPS, WBAP.

Hey LibertyNT, are you Hillary Clinton in disguise? Since she's in 2nd place and offering teh VP slot to Obama, why would you have KPLX (Who's leading KSCS) change formats instead of having the station that's sucking hind (word) change formats. If anybody needs to give it up, it's KSCS according to those ratings...

When you say 4th, are you talking their 12+?

Because I can totally buy that they are 4th 12+ and 20th 25-54. Because most of their audience is old. Like just waiting around for the social security check old.

They've got a lot of people, just not a lot of young people. But they still manage to outbill every station in the market for a couple of reasons. They do have a ton of people listening, even if the audience is ancient. And they DOMINATE their competition. They roundly beat KRLD, KLIF, KSKY, etc...And of course, as a talk station they can run a heck of a lot more spots that your average music station...

Yea... Talk is a pretty popular format now :)
Im not that old and i listen to WBAP. [Not even over 40]
But i do wish that KLIF would return to the 1190 Freq.
Theres NOTHING legendary about KLIF on 570..

WBAP's audience skews older than the coveted 25-54 but only barely. They're tops in 35-64 in most dayparts and that audience is loaded with disposable income. I'm sure advertisers really hate that. ::)

'After Midnite' will be marking its fifteen-year anniversary later this year; Garner had previously worked as a top 40 jock at stations such as KRBE, KIIS & WHTZ.
