Who was programming KSCS back in the 80's when they were 3 in-a-row? If I remember correctly, Dean James is the one who moved Dorsey over. I remember being in the car with my mom when I was a kid listening to KSCS and thinking about how boring they were. I had never heard a radio station accept for KSCS at that time that didn't do any promotions.

As I recall it was R.T. Simpson that was PD of KSCS at that time. He eventually was promoted to OM of WBAP and KSCS.

Back then they were owned by Capital Cities, prior to the purcahse of ABC, and Warren Pottash was the GM. The concept of combining the beautiful music approach to country music was not proprietary to KSCS, many stations in the US were programming and winning with that formula.

As for Terry Dorsey, he was lured to KSCS by Ted Stecker, consultant, then the OM of KSCS (and evetually WBAP) around 1987.

Mr. Rowdy,

Was it a $3 million or $4 million contract you signed last year? :D
