Dorsey is without question the driver of this morning show. Hawk eye while essential is not the horse to bet on in youthefying the morning outside his role. He adds much, and is critical...and his best roll is setting up the heritage Dorsey.

The Jeremy Show, had the most tempo, and the most current thing on the station...and they blow that off. Go figure. That show sounded more "New" than anything they did all day. But talent aside, there is no musical sense to what they are doing. Are they "new" country or "most country". New cant include old Josh Turner, Boot skootin Boogie and the songs they are playing that are all over the place. When they were "Biggest Hits" you can be current as they were at the time, and get away with monster older songs as long as they were in a reasonable era... They need to define themselves..clearly...and keep the promise. I don't know what to expect from their positioning, cause I don't hear what it is on the radio.

Was the "Jeremy Show" not being syndicated on the "America's Best Country" format? I seem to remember hearing him on a local affiliate at some point. Talented dude.

KNUE 101.5 Tyler also carries it...so I assume it is generally available as a syndicated offering.

My question is..Why does Hawkey (sic) get first billing? I also wonder how dorsey feels about that. Very odd.

Could it be that with this "new" country format that Dorsey's on his way out the door at the first hint of the morning show not garnering enough ratings?

What pipe are you smoking? Dorsey will stay there until he retires.

This new company would rather blame Dorsey, that actually take charge of the radio station and make a musical difference that helps him...not adds to his aging. There are many country station in top markets with aging morning shows that are propped up by music. They went backwards for two years plus musically, and the only thing 'new" is maybe the absence of the REAL old music that they thought they needed to have back then. They are in love with "old", because it takes less to manage. All they have accomplished in the past couple of years is destroy Twister that could have helped them neuter KPLX. The Wolf has gotten stronger..by default, because they are not better musically, they are getting better credit for what they do. BTW, how awesome was the great vision of using Ron Chapmans "magic" on Platinum? The talent lineup is further very weak and too talky, and worse...new. and being new against WOLF combined with no compelling reason to listen will make this a no win.

Don't you really mean Dorsey would like to stay until he retires? With the climate of radio today he may not get the chance. Besides it's hard to sound new and young when you can hear your denture clacking on the air.

Who says you have to be "young...and new". You just have to be current in thinking, relevant, and good at communicating Wi your market, whatever it is. Dorsey qualifies there. As I said above, there are plenty of aging shows that are doing well and remain relevant. The station . Has to do their part are give them the tools musically, promotionally, imaging etc. Do you remember how much all radio promoted just a few years ago ? TV, outdoor that isn't traded, mailers, call out direct mail programs? Long gone. Today's corporate egeeheada who never ran a radio station thinks ratings and revenue are a right of passage that remains forever without those things.
