KSDS Jazz 88 "Jazz Live" Going Bye-bye

According to some good sources, KSDS Jazz 88 monthly "Jazz Live" show which airs on KSDS radio and on Cox Cable could be off the air if they don't find a new sponsor soon.

Up to now, Cox Communications has been a financial sponsor of the monthly live jazz show from the Saville Theater, but now that the cable TV business (especially in San Diego) is so soft, Cox Communications could very well be gone as sponsor in several months. Apparently they will be fulfilling their sponsorship contract, but the station is scrambling to find a new sponsor willing to sink money on the show which very few people actually knows that it exists.

Very few people actually know that Jazz 88 exists, except for a bunch of elites.

Wow, that's too bad. I listen to most of the Jazz Live shows and have been to a few. It's a amzing how a college jazz station can to live broadcasts and not the big boys. KSDS is really the only station I listen to next to my iPod

It really is a shame that more people don't know about KSDS. the DJ's genuinely love and know about the music they're playing. they talk to you and not at you. when you turn the station on you don't hear the same songs repeated over and over again. they play new releases as well as classics. If liking that kind of radio makes me one of the "bunch of elites" then so be it.
