They are now promoting that they will begin broadcasting Monday, December 21. Finally some competition for KLVI - they need it, but I am concerned how well KSET will cover Beaumont, let alone the Triangle with their puny nighttime signal.
I wish them well, but based on what's happened to AM Radio in Beaumont-Port Arthur, I wonder if there'll even be much of an audience for them. Does any AM station other than KLVI and KOGT have any listeners at all?
Stan, I haven't been to Beaumont lately -- any news about 1150AM (KBPO -- silent for over two years now) and whether 1250AM will ever return to the air?

They are streaming now and I'm listening in Ohio. What are your thoughts on their first day of local programming?
For that tiny signal, I'm very impressed. How long can they sustain their large staff? Will they be able to compete with the power house signal on 560? Last but not least, it don't make scene that they would make such a Huge investment in their station when most AM stations in the Golden Triangle are either
dark or on their last leg.???
I thought there kind of operator were long extinct.
I think they have assembled a great staff. They could give the moribund KLVI a run for their money, as 560 has been destaffing and most of their content is syndicated or syndicated reruns on weekends. Clear Channel's cutback on engineering certainly hasn't helped the Golden Triangle cluster - their stations sound like crap much of the time from an audio standpoint.
Good, though incomplete, lineup as originally promised. This is most likely due to the underwhelming nighttime power that limits listening to northern Beaumont at best. They need to have 2 kw both night and day.
