Is KSET, 1300, Silsbee, just testing or are they back on the air? Programming is a mix of Country, Oldies, etc. from Bmac (?) radio. They are sending a good signal into Orange.
I remember reading somewhere on the FCC site that they had to have their new transmitter site operational by January 11, 2008, so we ought to see how much of the triangle they can cover. I would expect better coverage than previously available. I don't see the present format having much of an impact, however.
Last time I drve out to where their new xmitr site is located, I saw NO signs of construction, etc. With the new site being directional, you would think several towers would stick out like a sore thumb in that area (SW of Lumberton) or at least cleared land. I guess I need to go out there again and see if they HAVE done anything. Heck, could be they had to old Silsbee site back on the air (what a lie they said to the FCC in their STA to be dark. Their current studios and xmtr bldg are in perfect shape after Rita....and here it is 2 yrs later...there was NO reason for them to be off the air this long...of course the same could be said for 1150...they COULD have had it back on by now...and the idiots they are selling it to will likely never do anything with it...so Port Neches may lose their only aural service...anyone want to file an appeal with me??
BTW how did KHCB get two translators licensed they have NOT built out yet?? One in Beaumont, the other in Vidor??? Neither is on, yet they got licenses to cover...HOW sad that a religious broadcaster LIES to the FCC...So much for protecting the public interest! What a sham...
