KSEV files for “new” permanent facility

Remember when Matt Provozante proposed 2 watts nighttime for KYND from, what, the Arena Theater? Never happened and, dare I say, neither will this. 4 watts? In Houston??

C'mon, Lieutenant Governor. Get a clue.

And KSEV simulcaster KGBC has little night coverage outside of Galveston County. I’m smelling zombie translator feeder in both stations’ future. I wonder if the 1.9kw ND day pattern will get approved; it is less than the station’s original 2.5kw day power when it first signed on the air, but that was a directional pattern that had little coverage to the north.

The four watt night signal will cover a few neighborhoods along the NW section of the Grand Parkway, and little else.

Dan Patrick is now 75 years old and you might wonder if he would want to cash out. Keeping the STA tower as a permanent facility shows they don’t want to spend any money on restoring the former signal coverage. However Patrick has announced he is seeking another term as Lieutenant Governor (which would keep him in office at age 80) so he may stay in the broadcasting game a few more years.

Actually I think it was 6 watts for KYND's night from the top of the building the Vietnamese client was using. It was an unconventional tower. KOKC objected and refused to drop the complaint saying if they don't fight this it was like a green light for others, so the FCC rejected the application.
