KSFO Evenings

Dr Laura said on Larry King Live last night that she will quit her show, I think in four months. Does anyone have any idea what KSFO will replace her with?

You can bet that the PD has already had calls and email from every single syndicator, pitching replacement shows. They'll scope out the waterfront, and then make a decision. It's possible they'll nuke her show early and just run the spots until she goes off the end of the year. It won't be surprising if a lot of bigger stations do this.

My bet is on Laura Ingraham replacing Dr. Laura on KSFO. This was the spot Laura had before Mark Levin replaced her back when KSFO was still controlled by abc.

Ingraham never moved the needle ratings wise in SF when she was on before. Also, she's really a prima donna...which she could be if she got good ratings.

Good ole Dr. Laura is stunting and has begun new contract talks by saying she's not interested in any new contract. Ya think? Great ploy for more money on her next contract! I believe she is not going to be going anywhere. Great way to stir up her whole listening audience too! Ya think? Or is Dr. Laura headed to a prime spot on Oprah's new cable channel? mmmmmm?

She might get a better deal out of Masters, but I doubt it. CC will never take her back. They did the "metrics" and calculated that it isn't financially worthwhile to have her when they parted ways with her. 400 million for El Rushbo eats up a lot of your revenues!

I feel like Ms. Ingraham would just be the best choice for KSFO. She is a popular national talk show host without a clearance in the Bay Area. Actually, she has the largest talk radio show without a clearance in the Bay Area. And Laura's porgram fits in with the rest of the KSFO lineup. Again, she was only dropped from the station before in order to make room for Mark Levin when ABC was trying to clear his show since they were the syndicators.

She never did anything on KNEW to pick up ratings, and she wasn't doing well in the numbers on KSFO before they plugged in Levin (which they would have done anyway, as he's "one of theirs.") She is a major pain in the butt to deal with, as noted before. If a host is a huge cume magnet, and brings in the numbers, management will put up with some of that, but not from a host that has twice failed to get good ratings in a market.
