KSFR on 101.1?

Strange. Until recently 101.1 FM in Santa Fe was a smooth jazz station, but now they are simucasting KSFR 90.7. I knew they were having some trouble keeping up with smooth jazz 104.1 with its better signal, but how did KSFR end up with a simucast on 101? Aren't they a non-comm NPR station?

101.1 (along with KBAC 98.1) was sold by Clear Channel to religious broadcaster EMF. EMF then in turn sold KBAC to Hutton Broadcasting (which is retaining KBAC's format). EMF then traded 101.1 - with some other incentives - with the college for the 90.7 facilitiy. As part of the deal, KSFR is simulcasting on both frequencies for a transition period. In short order, KSFR will be exclusively on 101.1 - with reglious programming from EMF on 90.7.

EMF's interests in 90.7 surround a recently-granted permit to substantially increase power on that frequency; which KSFR has little need for as it wants to only serve the immediate Santa Fe area.

Sometimes you need a scorecard....

Sold by Clear Channel without them streaming at all for me the radio master to take a listen or record. Sorry, I just have to rub this in - I never got to listen to it and wanted to very badly.

LOL thanks ED.

Clear Channel didn't stream 101.1? I know they do with 104.1. They are(or were in 101's case) good jazz stations, though I despise the obvious automation amd faux DJs pretending they are local(or are they?)
