KSIQ "earning" $1500 a month

By not operating it's main transmitter site, much savings (earnings) can be realized. Items not being used at this time, and the estimated power
consumption- TX, 8.5KW; audio peripherals,2-ton air conditioner, 2 STL units etc.. Rounding it up to say, 10.5KW/per hour. Multiply by maybe
21 cents/kw= $2.205 per hr. $52.92/day; $1588/month. This does not include the tower light I saw uninstalled on the ground. Nor the probable
internet feed for control.
As to the tower not being located on the nearby hill, an associate points out that KSIQs tower as it stands, is only 31'east of the National
Forest property line, and would be nearly impossible to locate it there. Thanks, good buddy.
Sophie, the hairdresser, says there are rumors about KSIQ.... can't comment at this time.
Still waiting for "Campo's Q-96" !

Point of clarification: Are you saying that they are running the booster but NOT the main signal?

I think that's the point. Too much interference between KSIQ-FM1 and KSIQ-FM.

I think the only way they can do that is if they get an auxillary permit to use their booster signal as a backup. I've seen that before.

But if the main tower isn't even set up completely and the booster's being used without a permit, that's a big no no. Like, open your checkbook and give Uncle Sam money kind of no no.

nice "sleuthing" Big...
this isn't just a violation...this is stupid.

no one would notice?

So they decided to go cheap and got caught. Yup, potential regulatory action and a possible huge fine is gonna make the value of the station skyrocket now. I bet buyers will be beating down the doors trying to get in on the action.

You just don't want to pi$$ off the FCC like this, particularly giving the middle finger to a guy like Zears. If only Jerry "the" Mann were still around to take his pound of RF.
