KSIR Testing Again

107.1 FM is testing with Adult Standards. They might be testing the booster in Aurora. The signal is great in the Centennial area.

I just now checked here in Larkspur and it's comes in alot stronger than it has been.

BTW, In case you missed last night they were testing with shania twain's music. I don't remember who else it was that they were playing after shania.

I heard what I think was Dean Martin loud and clear here in Highlands Ranch last night. Also on a note, 101.5 is a lot clearer now too.
______________

Over the last 24 hours, the Dean Martin stunting seems to have given way to a KARS-type oldies formatt on KSIR. Also KBRU is sounding better up here in the Commerce City area.

They do sound good, actually.. The Format they are using to test with is really good. It does sound like an ADULT Standards.. I wonder if they well keep that format?

KBRU, etc

Listened to KBRU and KSIR Saturday Night while heading north on I-76 between Denver and Sterling. Both had killer signals that the Denver sticks couldn't match. Could not hear Denver signals at one point far north, but 101.5 and 107.1 were loud and proud. With the 20kw boosters in place, both of these facilities can be strong contenders with the right formats, budgets and management.

Its amazing that NRC or even Jefferson-Pilot didn't have any interest in them. From what I saw on the purchase price for these facilities, they went for next-to-nothing considering their potential between main signal and booster coverage of the market; certainly far better than 105.5 or NRC's recent purchase of 102.3...

Also interesting to note that KBRU, although I still say they're stunting, has actually a very good classic rock rotation on the air..all the big mainstream tracks with no commercials. Switching back and forth between them and 103.5, I actually liked most of what KBRU was playing as opposed to Fox...who seemed to devote Saturday Night to lots of 80s quazi-metal (Dio, Cinderella, etc.) deep tracks - for no apparent reason. KBRU won the night in my book.

KBRU & KSIR Testing Today

They've got to be on the new booster in Aurora. They're both clear as a bell well inside my office building downtown.

Yeah, I believe both are. I get both loud and clear all over town, at my house in the north Thornton area and at work in downtown as well. Today is the first time I have heard KSIR testing during the day. They have been playing a mix blend of soft rock, R&B hits and classic rock hits. While over at sister KBRU they have been with the automated format for over a month. What gives? When does everyone think we can expect a launch of permanent formats??
______________

Re: KBRU & KSIR Testing Today

I don't know when we can expect a permanent format. But here in Larkspur both 101.5 and 107.1 have been coming in good after I moved my atenna.
