It's what's called an emergency repeater (not a translator) due to Mexican interference on 660 AM. They also are doing this on 95.5 in the Fort Worth/Arlington area. See http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,116185.msg931934.html#msg931934

The emergency no longer exists. The Mexican interference has stopped - so when are they going to shut down?

Just because you haven't heard it for the last day or two doesn't mean it has stopped. I do agree that they probably won't shut down the boosters until they're practically forced regardless, but I don't think a single observation is enough to say definitively that there are no more problems.

I didn't think the Nashville repeater/translator went back that far. Incidentally, WJNT-FM1 in Pearl MS got authorized in December of 1999, but you're right, it's still on.
Back to KSKY, I don't read anything into a temporary absence of Mexican interference on 660. Cruise around the dial and you'll hear stations booming in from time to time with what appears to be power well in excess of their supposed "authorized" levels.
