KSKY adds Neal Boortz

From 9-11 he will be on, live. What I find interesting is that (until now) Salem wouldn't air him on any of their talk stations apparently because he is socially liberal (pro choice, pro gay marriage, pro legalization of marijuana, etc)...

What do you know ISaidso? I can't find anything about the change. Her website still shows KSKY. She seems to be off the air more than on for a variety of personal reasons.

When she's on she only talks about herself.

I think there was a disagreement with Salem and her syndicator regarding LA, so Salem as a political moved pulled her from ALL of their stations (over 14 nationwide)

Laura Ingraham wants more money for her show. She went on strike for a while a few months back to get more money from TRN. Might as well dump her sorry show anyways.

Ego run amock. Paraphrasing one of her interviews "I'll remind you General Abizaid, I was in Iraq two years ago and I know what the current conditions are".

Heh, dont get me started on ego, I've seen it first hand. ::)

Its good to have Neal back on the air here. I learned a lot from him when I ran the board for his show on KLIF.

Boortz is more of a libertarian, which I respect politically, not to mention he's a pretty decent guy..are they going live or tape delay?

Let's dig a little deeper here. KSKY's been conservative talk since 2004. They haven't made a dent...ONCE...in the ratings. (I think their former screamin' preachers got better ratings.) So WHY? Does WBAP have all the popular conservative talkers spoken for? Is KSKY perceived as too "religious" with their Salem ownership? Is it just TOO conservative or not daring enough with its topics? They have excellent wattage, a cherry position at the low end of the dial, and they've been 24 hrs a day for many years now. Even that tiff with former morning talk show host William Bennett didn't get them any attention.

The Mortenson crew is still making money hand-over-fist at KKGM-1630 with the leftovers they inherited from KSKY four years ago (provided they remember to get paid UP FRONT by the screamin' preachers...a concept lost on sister KHVN and nearly driving it into bankruptcy.) Perhaps KSKY should cut their losses and do that format again.

The interesting thing about it is that there are really good options for national weekday programs available. KSKY has Dennis Miller on the air at night. He's live earlier in the day (not sure when). Would have loved to hear him during the day and he packed 'em in for a really funny evening in Dallas last year.

Boortz is good, but not much face time or awareness around here. We'll see.

Anyone hear where Laura Ingraham is going to end up in DFW?

Laura is going to WBAP to round out the talk with Mark, Rush, Sean, Mark and now Laura.

I heard her on with Mark this morning talking about it. She's going to follow Levin in the evening.
