KSL heard in Dallas!

Hello there Salt Lake!!

I wanted to let you all know that here in Big D, we can pick up your KSL 1160! At night, when our 1170 goes down, we can pick up a lot of stations in that range (including KSAL 1150 from Salina, Kansas - causing some confusion with KSL 1160 Salt Lake). But its all good, and I do tune in every once in a while!

Thanks for the great programming!

Regards from Texas,
CTL

I have managed to pick up KSL here in Atlanta a time or two, but it's not easy. I used to listen to KSL nightly when I lived in Huntsville, Alabama back in the early 80s. It was a very good, listenable signal back then. 1160 is much more crowded now, so I doubt it comes in as well there. When I visit my mom, who lives in south Alabama, I can usually hear KSL on a good radio (Sony ICF-2010)but it's hardly a "listenable" signal. KSL is a good station. When I listen to them now, I do so via satellite. ;-)

Back in the 70's, KSL occasionally made an appearence into western New York State, just east of Buffalo. However, 1160 is now crowded and that is probably impossible. I remember hearing the Herb Jeffco Show(I'm not sure of the spelling) on WHAS and KSL.

Too bad y'all won't be able to even try much longer... I have a feeling KSL-AM will split into something different soon.

I don't understand the simulcast on AM/FM!!!

What is this? 1982?

The reason for the Simlucast is to gain more listeners then anything.
Plus people tend to like FM over AM anyways. So anything on the FM would
bring in the ratings for a struggling AM talk station. That is proably
why they bought 102.7 Star FM and converted it over to simlucast KSL AM.

Sorry? to inform you, 1160 AM was certainly not "struggling" - it's been tops 12+ since when I moved here and probably longer. I'm sure its key demographics are strong too.

I agree that people are now all about FM though. *sigh*

And Bonneville bought Star a couple of years ago.
