Didn't this station apply for a frequency change at 104.1
with double it's power. Something I had read on SDradio.net
a few years ago.

An archive search of nearly seven-years has nothing about 107.1 ch-changing frequency. Also, the FCC.gov website has nothing about a ch-change.
______________

However, The FCC audio services division's "FM Quary" lists mutually excusive rule-making applications for 107.1 Fallbrook to move to 104.1 along with Helen Jones'proposed allotment of 104.1 to Murrieta.

I would presume KSSD's owner, Entravision, would object to such a move, since they trimulcast on 107.1 in Fallbrook, Arcadia, and Ventura, with the frequency prominent in their logo.

They want the move. If they move KSSD off 107.1 - they can upgrade KSSE to a B1.

I just realized something, if they did do that move to
104.1, it would cause havov with gillespie fields control tower,
it is on the same frequency.

Are you sure that is 104.1, not 140.1?
______________

According to airnav.com the frequencies for Gillespie (identifier KSEE in airport speak) are thus:
120.7 257.8 123.8
Happy flying!

around that frequency range I pick up the control tower which
sort of overwhelms my radio, not letting me listen to other
adjacent station like 104.5 and 103.7.

Picking up a harmonic?

Re: Gillespie Field Control freq

None of the harmonics of 120.7, 257.8, or 123.8 would have that effect.

More likely the close proximity to the control tower transmitter is overloading the front end of the Walkman.
______________

Not sure if this relates but,
When I lived in La Mesa in the late 90s (in a building facing Mt. San Miquel and Mt. Helix), I frequently had 102.9 interrupted by tower transmissions between Airliners and Lindberg Airport. It is also an interesting footnote that 102.9 was origally owned by PSA!

You know what garret it still happening and not sure that
will be a problem when 102.9 goes non-directional.

Minor correction.

And by the way, I of course meant to say "Lindberg Field."
It's San Diego International Airport.
