KSSE morning show fired

It was done right when they would have been going on vacation for the holidays so that there was no immediate interruption, but they will not be back this coming week when the holidays are over. This will make about thr 5th or 6th morning show change in the last 5 years for Super Estrella.

Actually, this happened four weeks ago. PD gone too...

The PD had no authority over the show though. The VP of programming had the office next to her and made all the decision for LA as well the out of market stations.

Format change coming?

Looks just like cost cutting. The company favors formats like José and Gato that have no talent at all, and can run off a computer.

Agreed. One local manager is going part time and the other left and will not be replaced. Looks like more cost cutting.

Very true. They also been using their "PATRULLA SUPER ESTRELLA" staff aka street team as On Air Personalities.

Hopefully Indie returns...

Not at Entravision, it won't. They have no ability to run a station like that. I'd be surprised if the streaming is still on for another qtr. The only "sales manager" bolted and officially there is just one employee...the guy programming the music. On-air people are doing it for various reasons but none of them is getting paid by EVC.

Entra-lack-of-vision can't run a station. Might as well sell it...

I wish...But think about it this way, the prime listeners and the target demos of Indie 103.1 most likely have internet connections. Entravision is probably spending around $200-$500 a month to keep the stream running (I've spoken with people from StreamTheWorld, that's the average cost to keep an internet only stream on the air with them). They have some ads on the stream to make up for that running at around $25 a spot, all the on-air personalities are working for free, so basically the station is being run for very little or even nothing.

Don't forget they have to pay salary / benefits to a couple people to run it AND they have to pay music royalties.
The Indie webstream is costing Entravision at least 200,000 a year, and they aren't making that money back.

The people who run it already work for Entravision and I'm sure they pay music royalties for all their station's streaming altogether so it doesn't make a difference. It doesn't take much to run a webstream...

There are only two paid employees for Indie now that the sales manager left. It's not costing them much, but it also is not bringing in much. Joe Escalante's Legal Zoom spots are the single biggest source of revenue now and that deal ends soon.
