KSTB coming back soon?

And check out the antenna height, barely over 50 feet.

If it ever gets back to the authorized 6kw, I could see Cumulus selling this to one of the satellite-fed religious networks, such as EMF. Wonder if KSBJ would be interested? Their NGEN format could go here.

Then, too Cumulus might hang on to it for future development possibility, if the FM band ever expands down to 76MHz as previously posted, then it may be another shot down the road for a full market signal; as it is now, NGEN possibilities at 6kw there doesn't sound too impossible

Don't look for the FCC to change the lower limit of the FM band. Instead, expect to see more of the upper UHF channels to be auctioned off (51 is already in jeopardy), forcing many TV stations around the country to be move back to their former VHF channels. Expanding the FM band simply isn't part of the agenda.

Like I've said before, 101.5 is little more than scrap metal left over from the shuffling and upgrading of other stations so KSTB is locked into a Crystal Beach location with no more than 6kW. It's an undesirable location with minimal power, and barring rule changes or a shuffling of allocations in the area (in other words, a miracle) things aren't going to change for years. So I like the idea from Mediafrog as well: get it back on the air, whether it's running fully licensed power or not, sell it to EMF--or anybody, for that matter--and walk away.

Seems to be a 'yearly appearance', only to be on the air long enough to hold on to the license....

Last year they ran all 90s as "Energy", a format they borrowed from the old KDBN HD-2/Dallas. One day it was there, the next it wasn't....

Any word if they are on??

Passed through the Bolivar sandbar twice last week. Nothing on 101.5 except a little wish wash from WYNK, 105.3 was booming all the way through 61st street Galveston. Ironically Friday morning when i stopped into a Subway on the seawall in Galveston for a bite, KXKC 99.1 out of Lafayette was playing over the speakers. Im sure they were trying for KODA but tropo had other plans.
