KSTN-1420 return as online radio station only?

Sure looks like (from the website), this online station is broadcasting from the original studios on Ralph Avenue in Stockton.

Someone speculated on Facebook that it might be the work of Paul Shinn.

...Or perhaps it's simply the work of someone who builds model radio stations the way others build model railroads.

Was this the guy who inflicted "59Oldies" / XERB.com upon us?

Ooh, very sassy! Define "inflicted," Minnie. :-*

I just stumbled onto it one day over at Shoutcast.com. All I know is that it came from the Sacto area; nobody I knew at the time would talk much about.

Talked with two former employees about KSTN-AM/1420 Stockton. Yes station is on internet and is on air at 1420 AM, KSTN. They are friends with person close to whats happening at KSTN-AM. I believe KSTN-FM call letters are parked at soethin like 91.3. What was KSTN-FM is now KLVS-FM.

Fascinating. So ... did they tell you this with a straight face?

59 Oldies was my first digital (Internet) radio station, several years ago. The "59 Oldies" jingles were PAMS customs. Some time later, Michael Zwerling and I were talking about KOMY/1340 in Santa Cruz; he was running Air America on it at the time and he asked how long it would take to re-work 59 Oldies into KOMY. We did it in about three hours one morning.

It ran for several months until the new station manager -- an expert in the field of Oldies radio -- came along with a better deal from Jones. I got my box of Oldies and automation back from MZ, and replaced the KOMY imaging with a bunch of old XERB jingles for a while. That box now runs Classic 1260 KYA at http://www.1260KYA.com/

For the record, Minnie, it never came from the Sacto area. And perhaps nobody you knew at the time would talk much about it because the story just wasn't that interesting.

ADD: The XERB tribute I created that Minnie loved so filthy good is still online at http://www.Xerb1090.com -- it's running old XERB airchecks.

This site has been changed already. I don't see the audio stream anymore. It features vintage audio clips only.
I noticed that too. It seemed to coincide with 1420 signing off again last Monday (January 24).

There seems to be 2 online stations calling themselves KSTN. The one I picked up on the squeezebox in the Sacramento local station log has KSTN listed as on-line. What I hear is a BBC internet feed live from London playing nothing but Beatles songs.
