KSTN is Back on FM?

Madmansam said:
I think it is 95.5 FM?

No, 105.9. And this is a unique translator in that it is super-powered and totally suitable for KSTN. If you look at the translator rules here:

http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CFR-2009-title47-vol4/pdf/CFR-2009-title47-vol4-sec74-1235.pdf

it says that a translator at that HAAT (100 meters or so) is limited to 19 watts. It's currently on the air with 100 watts from about 100 feet and covers quite well. But it's still Family Radio and not too many people know about it. With 250 watts at 300 feet it should cover the entire city nicely, and it's "theoretical" coverage is still less than that of the AM, so it is within the rules.

Family has done a good job of putting this application together and providing a decent return on a signal that was, for the most part, pretty much redundant to their 88.1 transmitter in Walnut Grove.

Thanks Dave for the clarification. I just checked and 105.9 booms in clear in Northwest Stockton and comes in stronger than its primary frequency of 1420.

I sure would have liked to hear a similar KMPH format on KSTN. Every station owner seems to believe what they're doing is right. I hope this is true for KSTN. For the period of time that KSTN was dark, it seemed like a part of Stockton was missing. I'm glad it's back.

Still waiting for KSTN to also appear on 105.9. Still Family Radio there.

1420 105.9 Stunting

Well I listened today and 105.9 and 1420 are simulcasting as KOOL 105.9! Yesterday it was Old school 106! with 1420 still doing classic country. Fill us in BossRadioDJ what is going to be the new format? Or anyone that knows.
