COMPANY: KSTP-AM SCHEDULE: Weekdays STATUS: Full Time, Salaried QUALIFICATIONS: Insatiable desire to be aware of the latest current events and pop culture happenings. Obsessively read, surf, watch, see & hear a variety of information sources, then the ability to articulate efficiently one's observations and insights of those events/happenings in a compelling, intriguing and entertaining fashion. Skilled story-teller with an eye for pivotal details and the ability to separate those from frivolous information. A free-wheeling sense of humor is exceedingly useful for success of candidate. Experience actively participating in a personality-driven radio program, preferably hosting own program (3 years minimum). DUTIES: Report to work prepared with a knowledge of the day's current events by observing the world on a daily basis, at work as well as outside work, reading newspapers, magazines, consuming other media and living a full life. Work in a team environment with a variety of people, including but not limited to show producers, board operators, Program Director, co-hosts, sales and support staff. Collaborate constructively with team members to develop and evolve the show in a positive direction, increasing listeners and station revenues. Report to work prepared for the program, alone and with others. Following the program, host will need to work after the show preparing the next day's show. Host will be expected to meet with current and prospective clients & make promotional appearances for the program and station. Enter into discussions and debates with co-hosts, guests and listeners that can and will result in differences of opinion. Due to the type of the show and the station's programming, the differences of opinion are expected and natural parts of the show.
