KSWD Sounding a bit more "mighty"

Not sure what the recent "Finally a KMET Friday" impact will be on the Sound's ratings, but it definitely has had an impact on their playlist of late. I have noticed more Bad Company (a lot), Aerosmith, and (good grief!) Boston and similar artists that seemed like they came right off of the 1978 KMET playlist.

Until that Friday, the Sound played nearly all rock groups save the hard core heavy metal, but generally only the tracks that were not hard rock, but now just about anything is on the classic rock list. This seems to me like the right thing to do in the short term as I'm sure they want to convert those that just tuned in for the event. How that translates long-term is anyone's guess.

Well for some of us it's a 'been there, done that, and don't need to dwell on 1978' kind of feeling. Yes as mentioned in the other thread, if I had a gun to my head and had to pick one, The Sound would be more palatable than KLOS; KLOS is ancient, KSWD is more diverse, sometimes ancient, and definitely not unique.

"We're thrilled. Listeners in Orange County tell us they're tired of hearing the same songs over and over from the same old corporate L.A. stations. We really appreciate that the O.C. is supporting the underdog."---- Dave Beasing

I don't think I can agree with Dave Beasing's statement about "the same songs over and over"....... THAT was one of the major complaints about The Sound from all listeners, regardless of where they were listening from. ::) Yes they're tired of it and get little break on that score from The Sound.

The Sound is dead-in-the-water. Ill-conceived and mis-conceived from the beginning....Especially in L.A.

Bonneville must be eating "AMP-Crow" right about now. Had their chance to come at KIIS and blew it!

What a monumental radio disaster!

**If you're reading Bonneville....Still a chance to come at KOST!**

The Sound should have stuck with their original AAA programming!! It was great! They could have easily grabbed a good chunk of the market before KLSX flipped, but it's too late now.

How long can KLOS hang on? Citadel's debt and the worthlessness of it's stock would make KLOS a great candidate for a format change.

So true man. Citadel is sitting at 3 cents a share! Pathetic!!
