I know some people may not even know or care about this station, but this station is extremely low-budget. On my way to Las Vegas in July, the station had no liners, and once I heard 30 seconds of dead air followed by a tone you hear in test patterns, then sounding like someone put in a CD with a pre-recorded radio show. Is California Communications of Barstow too tight on cash? Note, they also own "94.3/102.5 The Duck".
 
Hey, I just made the trip thru the same desert area and the AM 1340 frequency had just dead air. Nothing!!!

Either they're doing their usual dead air program or you went to the wrong frequency (1230, not 1340).
