KTAE calls return to Cameron radio

I wish them all the best with KTAE. But even though their new website claims their signal will get into Austin, they won't get many listeners here in the Capitol City.

I used to enjoy listening to KMIL at 1330 here in Austin -- that is, until KVET at 1300 fired up its IBOC HD signal. Now, it's KVET hash noise all day at 1270, 1280, 1290, 1310, 1320 and 1330 -- and that's on a good car radio that never had trouble picking up KMIL (now KTAE) before the HD AM disaster.

A most interesting letter, and I wish them the best. As for that signal upgrade, I can't wait to see what they've got planned. Hey, maybe KTAE could get the engineers who applied to move KTON from Belton to D/FW, since they're not shy about filing high-powered applications (KGOW Bellaire/Houston from 800 to 50,000 watts, KTON from 1000 to 50,000 in Lancaster and now KTMR Edna/Victoria from 10,000 to 45,000 watts near San Antonio).

I used to work with Fred Lundgren. He's a good man and if anyone can make good on the promise on that page, it's him. He truly believes that local radio should serve the people, and he and that station deserve our support if, for nothing else, what he's trying to preserve.

Fred is truly the anti-Clear Channel man.

So I see KMIL has moved to 105.1 FM, were did that frequency come from? Is it a new station or did they buy another station?
