KTAR - Data Doctors

You'll never hear a live phone call taken on the data doctors radio show because they now record the show during the week from their offices. The show now sounds like a rip off of TWIT and their new topics/show alienates their listeners that don't want to hear about social media for two hours.

Dont know if its pre-recorded, and dont rally care.

Dont really like the new format.

I'm pretty sure they plan on taking the show national.

Maybe Click and Clack would be interested in doing a computer show but what kind of computer would replace a '63 Dodge Dart? ::)

I've listened to the Data Doctors since I moved to Phoenix in 2000. I liked their 'live, local, first' radio show and how they took computer questions on the air and interacted with regular callers.

I heard some of the program this weekend (15 May). At the beginning, the female announcer said "live." If they feel the best way to grow their business is to phone it in, it's their right. I remember the last time 2 Valley talkers tried to take their program nationwide. It lasted about a year.

Sure, other locals have tried to go wide and fallen on their faces. But in the particular specialty field these guys work, another local went on to be the leader and standard-bearer. With only one other successful syndie show operating in Mrs. Nearly's territory (Leo LaPorte's The Tech Guy), there's good reason to think they could find a niche for themselves.
