KTAR-FM Brings Back Arizona's Noon News!

Starting today, it appears that KTAR-FM has brought back, after a multi-year absence, Arizona's Noon News from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Once a staple of KTAR's line-up before Glenn Beck took over the afternoon airwaves about five years ago, it appears this one hour of all news has returned hosted by Karie Dozer of Karie and Chuck fame (looks like Karie and Chuck has now been reduced to just two hours from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.)

For me, this is a big thumbs-up to KTAR. Personally, I like KTAR doing all-news as they are the only truly local radio news station we have here in Arizona. The only thing that would make me happier is if they flipped Mac and Gaydos in the afternoon and brought back all-news for the ride home. I need my Detour Dan traffic reports every ten minutes on the 9's just like the Morning News. :)

This may only be one hour during the lunch rush, but this is definitely a step in the right direction for any fan of all-news radio!

I still miss Paul Harvey.............................................................................................Good DAY!

Is there really an hour of Arizona News to cover daily? The Nurse and I aren't telling TMISU how to run KTweetAR, but an hour of listeners venting on the Jodi Arias trial would be far more interesing. But they don't take listener calls anymore, do they?

All they need to do now is open up the phone lines and bring back listener calls - go to the "source," as Dumb & Dumber as have been re-branding it. Frankly, I'm more happy about KWSS-LP's move up the dial - they have been a far more credible "Voice of Arizona" than 92.3 of late - who is neither live nor local after 7pm. Of course, as other people (not me) have pondered on here, the reason 92.3 won't return to on-air calls is because the majority of their talkers are as bright as some of the callers - so the business decision is reasonable, albeit not the most logical for a station that wants to brand "live and local."

Well, theoretically, at least according to Phoenix magazine's Bucket List, Bonneville brokers their time just like KFNX does, so it is conceivable someone could buy their own talk show that takes listener calls - thereby confusing listeners who may think 92.3 finally returned to some semblance of legit "talk radio." Top of my to-do list once I win the lottery. ;D
