KTAR Live and Local All Night Long!

Oh, I forgot to mention it's only for the Cardinals post-game show after Monday Night Football. While this may only be a one night thing, isn't it nice to actually have a local radio station live and local taking calls until 11 o'clock at night? KTAR-FM used to be like that (I remember when they first made the switch to FM they had Larry Gaydos on live from "9 to midnight, 9 to midnight, 9 to midnight" because that's how he rolls).

Now? Not so much. After 7, it's adios live and local and hello Senor Dave with tape delayed trailer-trash money advice. Wow, thanks KTAR, no wonder your ratings are in the gutter! ::)

I think the major news was that KTAR actually took some calls! Imagine that, a sports-talk station talking to the fans to get their reaction to the game... what a concept!

And to those that regularly chime in stating that they don't need to hear calls, what makes a hosts perspective so much better than a caller? Fans pay for the merchandise, stadium, tickets and realistically are the reason the team is there in the first place, so their points of view are just as valid if not more so.

Gee, wonder what IndieRadioGuy has to say about all this? ::)

Nurse Jeff is busy looking around the Media Hut for our MIB Neuralizer as this subject is truly worth forgetting. Aside from a few posters on this site, there just isn't enough available audience for any talk station to go local after 7pm. But then again, IndieRadioGuy could make liars out of us ;D

They say if you leave your dog alone (especially if it is young) to put an item of your clothes with your scent on it in the dog bed and play talk radio softly in the background. This will soothe your dogs loneliness and stop him from barking. Therefore set your old radio radio to ktar or sharpe/kfnwhyeye and drape your day old undershorts over the speaker. Everything has its purpose under heaven.

Actually, I find it puzzling that their phone lines are always lit up like a Christmas tree when Jay's talking up days-old stories. How is it that so many people can be willing to wait so long for a few minutes of airtime on Sat & Sun evenings but not during weekday mid-day or drive-time? Why can 92.3 open up phone lines for callers to talk about their favorite scary movies one day, when just a few weeks earlier, BSJ & Co. are chatting up nearly identical "caller bait" but wouldn't take calls? Could it be...Bonneville is scared of their callers?

I think we should all be grateful that Bonneville doesn't have any faux "talk radio" stations in New York. I cannot begin to imagine the embarrassment if they were to play Ramsey when Sandy hit (which was after 7pm local time, and no news breaks after 7pm or/and weekends at Bonneville.)

Because the consultants elevated them to speak for "Voice of Arizona." Remember: They live here, too. ;D
