Heard Aunt Carlos in New York today bragging on KTAR that he will be on CNN with Paul Zzzzzzahn. Methought he was live and local? Is Auntie already trying to get a new job? Nurse, administer truth serum to KTAR. They brag that their shows are live and local, but last I looked, NYC wasn't a part of Phoenix. Criminy.

Even if he is in New York... KTAR's bragging about being live and local is an obvious jab at KFYI for having national shows. It's still a local show, targeted at a local audience. And no, a couple of days on remote is not the same as Crummey.
Watching him now on TV, I swear he has more makeup on than any of the women.

And TMISU noses continue to grow! One of their problems is management doesn't listen to News 92~nine, where Hip Hop used to live. If they did, they'd never run a promo acknowledging the competition by stating KT'R doesn't use stupid sound effects. And what about that rejoiner claiming you never know what Pat McBland will do next, when in fact everyone knows it's the same ol toaster talk he's done for at least the past four decades! The Nurse and I aren't overly concerned about Aunt Carlos being in Noo Yawk City doing a local Phoenix show. TMISU have bigger problems and being beaten by an AM station after paying beau coup bucks for KKFR has got to be hurtin' for certain!

I remember when you were optimistic about Aunt Carlos giving momentum to Snooze 92-3. I think we're all in agreement now that Aunt Carlos is just another D- host.Dr. Akbar said:

I still think KTAR lacks any kind of direction--this lineup is not conducive to bringing in listeners, from pompous Ned and Frosty Connie in the morning with the same recycled elements to Aunt Carlos and his slightly above toaster talk survey radio style. Of course there's McBland being stuck in 1977 while the afternoon Snooze and then the nightly chaos of Gaydos who is so stuck on himself and mired in shtick that would even make Barry Young cringe that the entire station is likely to continue to reside in or below 10th place. My dad was a preacher for over 50 years; 40 of them with the same church. Growing up on the back left pew I watched as people of every kind came into or carefully circled the outside of our little universe. Most were fine folks. Some were con artists, drug addicts, alcoholics, wife cheaters and the like. Two things linked us together: 1) We were sinners and 2) we didn’t want to be.
I would watch as my father ministered to people on a daily basis and no matter how difficult the situation I never saw him lose his cool with his congregants. I asked him once what kept him from exploding. His answer was simple, “Hate the sin but love the sinner.”
I would like to think that some of dad’s philosophy lives on in my life—love the sinner but hate the sin.
