He's been offered a job by CBS in LA. An announcement is coming soon.

hmmm :-\
My ideas to fix up that dump would work--but I can promise you they wouldn't hire me... You can bet I'd make quite a few sweeping changes, not the least of which would be to give grandpa McBland the pink slip--along with the morning and afternoon snoonze blocks and focus on TALK--which is what KFYI does and is beating the crap out of KT'R. Gaydos would be out the window, but I would hold on to Kid. Aunt Carlos--even though I dislike his show--would be retained for two reasons 1) his contract is probably too much to just ditch and 2) he has not yet had sufficient time to be impactful. As for what I would replace all the fired hosts with... that's what's on the ol' coversheet/resume package. KTAR could be competitive, but not with the product they are putting forth right now.Radio Pro said:IF you were the Pd at KTAR..and the job in L.A. were offered, you wouldn't take it?
Suggestion..position is open..apply to KTAR and see if your ideas would work.

We get it, KTAR is a station for old folks. They're obviously trying to change that. I give them credit for (McMahon excluded) trying to do something different. What is everyone else doing?
OK, now it's time to start telling me I'm a KTAR staffer, or that I'm russ hill. Maybe even a scrolling message about lame topics (rain, 100 degrees) that were a staple of KTAR in years past.
I could tell you who gave me that memo, but they would likely find themselves in hot water, so you either except the premise or not--I believe KTAR's track record and the credibility for such a memo speaks for itself--I address this point in the other thread. I have better things to do with my time than write a phony memo or say untrue things about KTAR. I have no ax to grind with Bonneville, aside from what has happened to a once respectable herritage station in this market. I'm hoping that by exposing these things, it may lead to some change.rockjock420 said:Has anyone been able to cite a source for this rumor or the "memo" about the Cardinals? as far as I can tell, all of this has been pulled from the buttocks of people with far too much time on their hands.
