KTAR V KTAR-FM audio

Suggest you guys compare (same radio) the lack of the high end on KTAR-FM's audio signal. One would think that would be reversed, with FM beating AM for clarity. I continue to favor their AM signal so that I don't need to mess with the equalizer on the FM side. Love the liner scores in stereo, though. Let's hope this is addressed before they switch to news-only on the FM side.

(And yes, the spoken word on other FMers on my car radios is quite adequeate. KTAR's engineering staff evidently has not made this simple comparison.)

Must be remnants of Power92's hip-hop booming bass processing that's interfering with The Men In Secret Underwear. Friday's Suns game from Italy sounded a lot better on Sports Parking Lot 6~twenty than News 92~three. But WTF is going on with a mid-day Suns throwaway game on a weekday? And on FM, no less!

Nurse Jeff and I heard all of KTR's promos at least three times over when the Italian connection was interrrupted. Guess McBland left the building for Bill Johnson's and was unavailable to cover with Toaster Talk! What a shame :(

Have to disagree with both of you.

Bob--the FM sounds a whole heck of a lot better than the AM
to me on the same radio. S-P-L 620 is the usual muddy AM with
probably 5 kHz tops. If N-92-3 isn't hitting 15 kHz, they're
pretty close to it.

Doc--I remarked back on the first day that not only did TMISU
scale back the Gangbanger 92 processing, they scaled it back to
nothing. Real flat and not near as loud as the other big-stick
FMs. Took them several days to get some oomph and loudness
parity back into the signal.

Lame Suns pre-season games are just made for Sports Parking lot 6~twenty. Just imagine the thrill of hearing all lame sports all the time on 1/01/07. The Nurse and I are counting down the 85 days left!

Attn: Kiva Theater patron. The last showing of "I am Curious Yellow" has concluded for the evening. Please take your one-note complaints - and your used Kleenex - to the garbage can on the way out.

The Suns and KTAR have done very well together over the past 30 years, a track record that Mono-Drone 55 (the station of your deepest dreams) could only hope to envy.

Now, the sports will stay on AM, in the "parking lot" that contains religious barkers, ethnic dredges, and - what's that loud blast of noise down at the left end of the dial? Oh, yea, "Ol' 55".

Is now the right time to start the official "when will KOY and KFYI shift frequencies again?" pool?
