KTAR's Campaign Coverage

RNC: Ramsey
DNC: Ramsey
The Debates: Ramsey
Election Night: Ramsey

IOW, "breaking news" only during Mac & Gaydos. Ramsey after 7pm. No exceptions. Not even for the President.

Sad day when KFYI scores better numbers - again - and better campaign coverage than KTAR.

I'm sure plenty of their target demo (20's) will hop on today's poll of the day (grandparents watching kids). ::)

Gee...Nurse Jeff and I are beginning to think you've lost that lovin' feelin' toward KTweetAR

TMISU did carry the final night of the DNC with Dumb & Dumber and Bruce St James providing commentary before and after. Funny how it seems Mac Watson sounds so intelligent everytime Gaydos opens his mouth and has a Joe Biden moment!

Now that the race is on, Los Buckeye Boyz predict KTweetAR will provide more coverage. Nothing like KFWhyEye's, but we're not convinced their audience wants wall to wall politics.

So to paraphrase the chant we heard over and over Thursday night at the DNC:

four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...four more beers...

You are absolutely correct Doc. KTAR did in fact have DNC coverage today including "Talk the Vote" with Mac, Gaydos and Bruce St. James beginning at 7:00 P.M. KTAR even carried President Obama's entire speech live. Now before people scream that KTAR is playing favorites by carrying DNC coverage as opposed to Mitt's speech last week during the RNC, remember that last Thursday night was that crazy sports day where KTAR had the D-bags, Cardinals and Sun Devils all on at the same time. Since Cardinals coverage was on the big FM stick, there was no room for RNC coverage and Mitt's big speech (another reason why KTAR's handling of sports triple coverage leaves a lot to be desired and further shows the need for an FM Sports station, but I digress).

As such, I imagine KTAR will have better election coverage here in the last 60 days, including booting ol' Ramsey from his cushy 7-10 spot if need be. I do agree that KTAR's Election 2012 coverage has left a lot to be desired, but let's not be tough rough. After all, when it comes down to choosing our next president and football, we know where Bonneville stands: MORE FOOTBALL FROM THE CRUMMY* CARDS!! ::)

* Editor's note: Crummy Cardinals Football is not to be confused with Joe Crummey, former late night talk-show host on KTAR before they went Dave Ramsey crazy. Joe Crummey is currently gracing the airwaves of WABC in "This stuff's made in New York City!!"*

But wait! That Bidinals exhibition game didn't start until 8 PM. I'm sure it was planned that way
in order to KNXV-TV 15 to air the game, and carry the RNC coverage from ABC from 7-8. (Mitt
ran over, but that's another story.)

So KT'R-FM could have scheduled the RNC speech at 7, and the game at 8. Of course, then they
couldn't have done the all-important Cardinals pregame show. When did that start, 5 PM? ::)

It started at 8 PM because the KNXV broadcast was also carried on NFL Network. They also had a game at 5 and didn't want to join the Cards in progress. That was also why the game and Channel 15's broadcast had to start at 8, Romney or no Romney. The first 20 minutes or so of the game was on 15.2.

So KT'R-FM could have scheduled the RNC speech at 7, and the game at 8. Of course, then they couldn't have done the all-important Cardinals pregame show. When did that start, 5 PM? ::)

I think the pregame show started when Burns & Gambo began their show, since KTAR is All Cards All The Time during football season (and a bit beyond).
