KTBU TV55 Houston

adds more classic programming...

Star Trek (1966), Battlestar Gallactica and Tales of the Darkside starting at 7p CST on the weekends. They've also added a Sunday Night movie starting at 8p CST.

Very nice additions I must say!

Are they just in HDTV? Are they in full power yet? I dont have a HDTV tuner yet out in Lavaca county, but would like to get one before to long, HDRadio is first in line ;).

I thought I saw somewhere that they're at digital channel 42, not into this hi-def stuff (yet) therefore don't know if that really answers your question or not. ;D

KTBU-DT is maxed out at 1000 kW, broadcasting on ch. 42, but a digital TV will pick them up at ch. 55.1. Their signal isn't quite predicted to reach Lavaca County, but you may still pick them up, especially if you're on the east side of the county.

Thanks my place is about 13 miles South east of Hallettsville, I can pick up Houston analog decent, I have the secound best whinegard outdoor antenna out about 20 feet in the air. I'll half to bring my HDTV reciever sometime down there to see how it works.

The ST-The Original Series episodes are actually the remastered/digitized version from CBS as of 2006 that KTRK was running. It uses a CGI Enterprise (not a model as TOS did in 1st run and syndication) and other updated special effects, etc. Evidently KTRK lost the contract on the remastered series and 55 picked it up...at least at a decent time!!

Except that the crummy rabbit ears atop my 10 year old TV are barely able to pull in channel 55's signal on my Westchase apartment.... :'(

But, worry not! I'm planning on buying as new HDTV ready set next year.
