"I like my job, so I'm not going to comment on the Dickey Bros.... But not being happy with upper management is no excuse to phone it in at the local level. If you "don't give a damn" then QUIT, see if you can find better employment elsewhere. Bringing the "I'm doing as little as I can get away with, and everyone else can pound sand" attitude to work doesn't affect the higher-ups, they don't even notice, it just screws over all the people who work with you because they have to struggle to pick-up your slack and overcome your incompetency." I couldn't agree with you more. As bad as the bunch of Dickeys treat the help, someone aught to stage a nice walk-out strike. Somehow I don't see that happening though. The bunch of Dickeys have the "help" (I would use another term but it may offend an ethnic group)exactly where they want them. Regardless of how bad things are, they "still have a job". Truth is Wal-Mart might be a kinder place to work with more potential. That's not saying much, of course. People are afraid to let go, move on, or give up on the industry. Dickeys and other corporate guys love this situation. They and their almost equally bad coroporate competitors run the same endentured ship, so what's the difference? The only choices are to: #1 Work small market radio for even less pay. #2 Try public radio/ non-comm. #3 Try to buy a small market and try to stay afloat (if you have the finacial ability) #4 Leave radio. Great options, eh? Thank you Lew and the gang for being such a wonderful bunch of Dickeys to our industry. You take the cake.
