KTCK didn't Encode Signal ???

So technically, you're 100 percent right. Someone screwed up big-time. The underline problem isn't likely just that though. The real problem is with a bunch of Dickeys.

I like my job, so I'm not going to comment on the Dickey Bros.... But not being happy with upper management is no excuse to phone it in at the local level. If you "don't give a damn" then QUIT, see if you can find better employment elsewhere. Bringing the "I'm doing as little as I can get away with, and everyone else can pound sand" attitude to work doesn't affect the higher-ups, they don't even notice, it just screws over all the people who work with you because they have to struggle to pick-up your slack and overcome your incompetency.

Five days of not encoding will result in what, a 0.1 dip in the Ticket's first-quarter numbers?

What percentage of 28 is 5? That is the impact of being off the air for 5 days of a 28 day book. 18% of a book, not a "0.1" dip.

There are no "First Quarter" numbers. In the PPM, there are 13 books a year, and they don't roll over or average. Each is separate and has a "full" PPM sample.

The only positive side is that they missed two weekend days, and The TIcket does not do at all well on weekends, so losing all of nothing is not as bad as losing 5 weekdays when the shares were much higher.

Everything I've heard about the move to Victory Park has been an absolute nightmare. This problem is but one of many.
The studios are a disaster. The electrical wiring is totally inadequate. It's so bad that several of the stations (or at least individual shows) still have not moved there.

I couldn't agree with you more. As bad as the bunch of Dickeys treat the help, someone aught to stage a nice walk-out strike. Somehow I don't see that happening though. The bunch of Dickeys have the "help" (I would use another term but it may offend an ethnic group)exactly where they want them. Regardless of how bad things are, they "still have a job". Truth is Wal-Mart might be a kinder place to work with more potential. That's not saying much, of course. People are afraid to let go, move on, or give up on the industry. Dickeys and other corporate guys love this situation. They and their almost equally bad coroporate competitors run the same endentured ship, so what's the difference? The only choices are to: #1 Work small market radio for even less pay. #2 Try public radio/ non-comm. #3 Try to buy a small market and try to stay afloat (if you have the finacial ability) #4 Leave radio. Great options, eh? Thank you Lew and the gang for being such a wonderful bunch of Dickeys to our industry. You take the cake.

Oh yeah... I forgot their favorite one.. Just sit there and take it. Now you know why some don't have the best of attitude at this point in the game. Is it right? Nope. Does it happen? Yup.

So based on the lowly 12+'s posted today on Radio Info, The Tick is still on top share wise, somewhat down in cume. Fan is just below share wise but has more cume than the Tick. ESPN also has better cume but trails the three share wise.

Of course it's 25-54 that matters. And I'd love to know how much is exclusive vs. shared cume between the three.

The Ticket is a very good radio station. But we have to agree on one thing, 1310 will be needing a full market FM lil' buddy sooner rather than later.

And to throw more grease on the fire, wouldn't 1310 be an outstanding signal for brokered ethnic? (running for cover!)javascript:void(0);

looks like ktck may have to toss SweetJack some makegoods.

Why would they give makegoods? The encoded days have typical Ticket numbers, making it safe to assume that the unencoded days had the same level of listening.

First of all, you don't do makegoods if the spot aired, and since the Ticket was still broadcasting, just not getting credit in the ratings, there would be nothing to "make good" on.

BUT WAY MORE IMPORTANTLY!! SWEETJACK IS A CUMULUS PRODUCT!! THEY'RE IN-HOUSE!!! DUH!!

It's no secret that sweet jack is Lew Dickey's attempt to kill Groupon. From Radio-Info.com back in December: http://www.radio-info.com/news/clear-channel-welcomes-cumulus-stations-onto-iheartradio
