KTDY "The highest-rated FM station in the nation"

I didn't want to hijack the thread, but there's a post in the WQUE "Stereo Rock" thread with a link to some syndicated programming demos...

Dan; Z94 used a similar format from Century21 studios in Dallas. Both promos for TM and Century 21 can be found here:

I remember Z-94(KZZQ) was top 40 From 5am to 6pm then AOR till 1am sign off and lasted around 1983-84 (I Think) when it was destroyed by going to a Jones sattelite format.

There was a link on that page for a demo and a couple of samples of the TM Stereo Rock format, but what caught my ear was further down the page—a demo for Century21 Studios' "Z" Album Rock format that highlights "the highest rated FM station in the nation," Today Radio, KTDY in Lafayette, Louisiana. Wow, what a great piece of nostalgia. Is that the late Conrad Maxwell that I hear on the aircheck?

When KTDY had those lofty numbers I think there were two FMs in Lafayette.....and GM Ron Gomez had Conrad
send everyone in the TSA a $100 check if they'd list KTDY in the book. Conrad sent $50 and kept the other $50 for his wardrobe.........The other FM was K-SMB /Sado Masochistic Broadcasting.....which played too many Jerry Jeff Walker songs to keep any listeners.......:)
