KTEA STILL PLAYING STANDARDS?

I don't live close enough to make the drive and check so I'm hoping someone in San Luis Obispo can help.

I was looking at SLO ratings and noticed KTEA-FM near the bottom as a Standards station. I went and did some research on Radio-Locator.com and it seems they have a decent signal in SLO proper. Is that the case? I know the coverage map on RL can be WAY off at times, so I'm curious if they reach SLO.

My guess is no because I'd think Standards might do a little better with all those who are in SLO retiring.

Thanks to anyone who can help... just a curious being over here.

I drive through SLO on the 101 every couple of months and have never been able to pick up KTEA. KVYB 103.3 from Santa Barbara is a fairly strong signal in SLO and wipes out 103.5 on my FM tuner. KKJL 1400 AM has been the Standards station in SLO for well over a decade.

According to Radio-Locator which is not the greatest guide especially over uneven terrien, it does NOT show a usable signal over SLO.

Good point about KVYB -- forgot about them. Makes sense.

KTEA 103.5 signal is more or less available only from Los Osos to San Simeon, and with the mountain range between Highway 1 and Highway 101 the signal doesn't even get to Atascadero or Paso Robles.KPYG 94.9 has similar coverage but with 25K watts instead of 6K watts there signal is stonger in SLO.

Plus, KPYG has a 900-watt booster in downtown SLO. That certainly doesn't hurt.
