KTEM Temple, TX

I'm hearing some chatter about Townsquare Media's KTEM (1400 AM) shutting down and the news/talk format moving over to KLTD (101.7 FM), which is currently Regional Mexican "Juan". I haven't been able to confirm this and Juan's socials are pretty active, but it does kind of pass the sniff test: KTEM is located on land in a nicer residential area with a lot new construction nearby and 101.7 has had a number of format in the past with the current not setting the world on fire.

That makes a lot of sense. I was always thought KTEM sounded like a much larger market station. While the Spanish speaking population in the area has been growing, the current format on 101.7 hasn’t taken off in the ratings.

Great radio station. Was one of Clint Formby's over the years.

Townsquare has trimmed a lot of AM stations from their inventory. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
