KTFM Noontime Mash-Up (mix)

Wow. With the exception of a couple of tunz it was Less than Female and/or Office Friendly. A friend in a medical office who works with a bunch of 20 something females who have started listening to KTFM at work, says they opted to change the channel 5 minutes into the Mash-Up.

And poor CJ sounded like "a fish out of water".

Thank GOD for the PPM's. If KTFM continues to play such a weak Noon-time Mix it will soon find out thats just not the way to go in this market.

My humble view.

Your thoughts, all mighty ones ?

First impression....what a trainwreck. It had NO energy whatsoever. The music selection should have been better.

Cj sounded like she was bored and just reading off some script.

There's still hope that tomorrow mixshow is better than today.

ChickWoolery liked it and SaRadio didn't?

What kind of twilight bizzarro world is this?

I thought it was cool, however I am a fan of that type of music.

I liked the music and thought it was an awesome mix, but it seems poorly scheduled. I'd love to hear something like this maybe during the 9pm hour outside of work.

I wish I could of heard it! But oh well, maybe I can check it out before they change things up again.

im just honest about what i think then yall jump my sh** thinking i work for the cia when i disagree. today was good too. but i thought yesterday sounded fresh. kudoz to ktfm management for stepping up and trying sumpin new.

I can respect that.

Anyhow... I think JC knocked it out the park today. He kept it female friendly and as we all know... that is what wins.

I don't know what the noontime Mash-Up sounded like, but what they are doing now is sounding pretty nice! I actually wish our top 40 in Phoenix was like this! I missed some of the Independence Day mix, but they did play Angelina "release me" and even Deadmau5 when I wasn't listening. I want to know where that Nalin & Kane Beachball instrumental they are currently using over the intro of "cooler than me" came from. It's been re-edited.

Not sure how long the current KTFM format will last because some parts of it are too good to be true. At least when it comes to the mix show programming this weekend. This station is almost as good as XHTO (and in some ways WPOW) minus some of the mistakes in the live programming. Of course XHTO can be how they are with no problems since they are licensed outside of the U.S. and targets a certain audience. http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php?topic=170126.0

It would be nice if more American stations followed the European and other international styles...

What's happening right now during the weekend on KTFM reminds me somewhat of when KPWR, KYLD, and KPTY were a party station. KPTY was ARIZONA's PARTY STATION!! The good ol' days.

What you heard today on KTFM is how it sounded when it was on 102.7 KTFM. Except they would mix all weekend long.

Anyhow, one of the current tag lines of 94-1 KTFM:
KTFM IS BACK!!!!

It must be a coincidence that I just happen to, for some reason, wander into the San Antonio section, then discover KTFM's style the following day. I never even once thought of San Antonio. The closest I've listened to I believe was 95.7 Houston. Something told me to listen to their 5 o clock mix one day and they just happened to test Agnes "release me" that day. XHTO was an obvious discover to me because every time I researched Jocelyn Enriquez, Angelina, or Rockell, XHTO kept coming up.

When I tuned into KTFM, I had no idea what to expect, but it was great right from the get-go. Anyway, I have things to do on this comp, so let me get offline. I "wasted" a lot of time running KTFM all day and got none of my own mixes done as a result! My "ok I'll just listen for about 10-20 minutes" didn't exactly go as planned....

By the way, KTFM has a touch of AC-ness to them. There's a "transitional phase" feel to them, as if they are still somewhat in transition to rhythmic top 40. They probably do (or once used to) play hits by Stevie B, Lil Suzy, Inoj, ... and people like that.
