KTIB-AM Had Their First In-Studio Live Show Today & Limbaugh question

Hey radio fans:
In a semi-surprising move, KTIB had a live in-studio talk show at 7am this morning (Monday) with Gene Richard and general manager Linda Bellanger, both worked at the station under the previous ownership.
They went through what their schedule will be starting Wednesday the 21st.
They set they would carry Rush Limbaugh weekdays...can someone explain to me how can they carry the show when WWL carries Rush in the same market (Thibodaux/Houma I thought was in the N.O. market)?

Someone reply whenever possible.

I could be wrong but since KTIB's signal does not reach New Orleans they are not considered part of the market. Like KJIN-AM 1490 can for ESPN radio without competing with 1280 WODT

ESPN I find will put a signal real close in markets (they are doing it with some of their programming with Coushatta and Shreveport in North Louisiana) ... Kind of like the saints radio network where three stations broadcast the saints game for their respective areas (Thibodaux,Morgan City, Houma) but all 3 stations cover the same territory (KTIB,KBZZ,KCIL).

On Rush, technically the programming of each station is aimed to a different local (Guaranty tried to push for ratings as it's own market a few years ago but I think just parish by parish is taken only by arbitron right now if I remember (as I don't think we are in New Orleans radio market in radio but we are on TV... someone please correct me if I am wrong)

But biggest rumor from a while back is Rush may not be renewed on WWL and instead be offered on WRNO, making Rush technically hard to hear in the Bayou region without KTIB.

I too am curious about the Limbaugh thing, but I went Rush's website and checked. They have KTIB listed as a station in New Orleans. They are also a little out of date with 105.3 still listed as a station.

If Limbaugh would not want the FM on the simulcast then why would they even list it on the website, or were there other forces? (CC/WRNO)

They even listed WRNO shortwave as a station. Wasn't WRNO shortwave sold and "run into the ground" by some religious broadcaster?

But as a comparison of Stations in the state that may have duplicate coverage, in Shreveport Rush is on KEEL and KNOC in Natchitoches. Wouldn't that be similar double coverage as with KTIB and WWL?

But another thing to consider is that Rush is not a barter show, its cash plus, WWL is sinking some big $$$ just to have him on the air in New Orleans because he brings the station ratings. I would believe also that KTIB will be spending some big $$$ (in KTIB terms) to bring Rush to that operation.
