Caught a promo this morning on 105.5 (trying to see if it's audible in
the foothills--it is) concerning the flip of which we already knew.
Only 'new' bit of info was a suggestion...not an out-and-out statement...
that not only would the format flip, the call letters would become
"KTKZ-FM"

Appears the trend toward talk on FM continues and this is a good shot
at "branding". <P ID="signature">______________
I once took something seriously.
And was accused of shoplifting.</P>

They are branding it KTKZ-FM, but the call letters will officially remain KVMG.

Officially? I guess we'll find out how credible your "officially" is on 9/19.

I see no reason to keep the KVMG calls on 105.5. They are only there because they migrated from one of the stations Amador Bustos is buying from Salem (94.3?)...the "KVMG" calls have no connection to Salem.

I'd expect 105.5 to become KTKZ-FM, officially, by Monday.

A Call Sign Query at the fcc website says:

"A request for KTKZ-FM dated 09/09/2005 has been filed
by CARON BROADCASTING, INC.."

And since Caron Broadcasting, Inc. is one of the many corporate
names Salem uses....

No obvious reason why the request shouldn't be granted.

As the Chief for the local Salem group, I can promise you it will
not remain as KVMG. That was just a temporary thing while we juggled call letters around for the Fish. The feds only allow calls to be changed after a 2 week waiting period or so after the last change....
