KTLA Returning Stephanie Edwards to Co-Host of Rose Parade

It's nice to see someone realize their mistake, even if it took the dumping of a GM to do it. Replacing Stephanie Edwards with Michaela Pereira was the now-departed Vinnie Malcolm's bright idea.

Haha poor Steph, she looked like a drown rat out there.

Steph and Bob on New Years Day go together like Kahlua and coffee and it was the right move bring her back. Michaela and Bob never clicked as much and Bob and Steph.
 
I've always thought highly of Stephanie Edwards (a very talented broadcaster) but my opinion of her grew even more when I saw her out there gamely doing the pre-parade segment, and doing it with a smile.

If it had been me, I would have gotten a bunch of roses with plenty of thorns, given one to each of KTLA's management, and told them where to insert it.

Now if they could only fix that pathetic 10 PM newscast. The latest choice of Markina Brown for weather from a UHF in Cleveland is not positive. She can't pronounce many Southern California city names. Hire John Beard as anchor and get some instant crediblity.

What I find totally laughable about Meteorologist Markina Brown is that everyone, including herself, keeps introducing her as "Meteorologist Markina Brown", just in case we may have mistook her profession for something a little more "on the street", shall we say. Garth Kemp and Dallas Raines are both meteorologists but I don't hear anyone sticking that title in front of their names every time they get a throw. I don't think Josh Rubenstein even gets that over at KCAL.

It's totally tacky. And it doesn't help Ms. Brown's cause when she comes off like a hooker with attitude. Pleeeze help her, somebody!

As for Stephanie Edwards' 50K fee, hey, if Eubanks gets that then she has every right to the same. There is a definite chemistry with those two that was totally missing with Eubanks and Michaela Pereira. A boneheaded idea pairing those two.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first time in quite a while that KTLA has had a certified meteorologist on their evening newscast. Maybe they're trying to emphasize that.

I'm sure this is true. But, good grief, the woman has her credentials and affiliations right on her lower third. Isn't that enough?!

Even though probably none of us actually took meteorology classes to get these accreditations. It's comical to tout such things in a place as woefully un-weather active as So Cal. The only place I can think of that has an even more predictable weather pattern is Hawaii.

Here's my weather forecast for Maui for the next 6 years: Highs in the upper 80's with lows in the mid 80's. Chance of afternoon rain. Ad-nauseum dead-horeseum. Hey look, I'm practically a qualified meteorologist! ;D

If it does rain that that day and Michaela is on the street, I hope that she's just wearing a white tee shirt. ;D
 
Just to digress slightly, one of the Rose Princesses this year will be Quinn Olivia Young, older daughter of former KNBC anchor Kelly Mack.
 
Wow... KTLA actually doing something right for the first time in a blue moon? Almost all of their good people have found greener pastures.
