KTLF In Denver

JeeperOne

Banned
Just the other night, I tuned by 106.3 with a radio capable of receiving local & DX reception & it stopped on 106.3 FM

Thinking it was probably Clear Channel owned KKLI from Colorado Springs running an on-channel booster to reach Denver, I initially thought nothing of it until the station ID'd itself as "Reflections 106.3 KTLF"

A quick online search showed it's a Godcaster whose flagship station is 90.5 in Colorado Springs

My question is with 91.1, 94.7 & 101.9 having such poor listenership (And the latter two having poor signals to boot) what makes the management at KTLF think they'll fare any better ESPECIALLY at 106.3 where they're right between Hot AC Alice 105.9 & Hard Rocker KBPI 106.7 ??

Normally I would post this in the Denver/Boulder board but since this is tied to a station out of Colorado Springs, I think this board would be a better place for it

Thoughts?

Cheers & 73 ;D

Actually, 91.1 is almost always a top-3 finisher in Denver and has finished #1 at least once. You just don't see it because EMF doesn't subscribe to Arbitron for Denver. So, the idea that there aren't enough listeners to support it is incorrect. Now, whether or not KTLF will do well on a low-power translator is a fair question. Of course, looking at how Comedy 103.1 did in the last book, it seems like a well-programmed station should be able to do just fine.
