Ktnt 97.3 history

I don't recall it as being "Beautiful Music"... more like an uptempo MOR.

I don't know what their automation was, but there was a loud click between each song and an underlying hum that was there as long as I recall.

KTNT-AM was probably more important to them back then.

MOR is correct. I have the automation tapes in my basement still....keep planning to digitize to see if there are any "nuggets" on there worth saving.

Chicken rock...combination of Barry Manilow or England Dan/JF Coley hits coupled with nuggets from Mike Curb Congregation and similar artists. Supposed to be more foreground than beautiful music, but far less intrusive than Top 40. In those days, "AC" wasn't really a format--that didn't seem to show up until beginning of 1980's (same concept...play the same [selected] hits, but no screaming & no uptempo stuff that would be paired with Top-40/CHR).
