KTPB Sale

In a letter dated January 31, the FCC said "We find that Educational Media Foundation is qualified as the assignee and that grant of the Assignment Application is consistent with the public interest, convenience and necessity."

Looks like the sale has or soon will be approved.

It has been approved. The FCC moved to approve the sale, and drop in an LPFM for the organization wishing to save the Classical format.

The only catch is the LPFM is for a location on Highway 31, just east of the Smith County Line. That wouldn't put much of a signal into Kilgore, and none in Tyler. It would be for 97.1, which would probably get a lot of interference from KEGL in Dallas, at least on the Tyler side.

KTPB signed off forever on Sunday night, February 11. The EMF people are installing their satellite equipment as I write this. Meanwhile, it is dark....
