KT'R All-Night News?

I've noticed this before on occasion, but with the Tempe Town Lake bursting its
rubber baby buggy bladder late Tuesday evening, I have to ask...

Why doesn't 92.3 KT'R-FM have any local news in the TOH window at midnight?

KT'R normally goes local after the first 2:00 of ABC/I or--during off-peak hours--
after the network stopset which follows. But apparently not at midnight.

There is an all-night news anchor at least on weeknights, so what's the deal?
Now putting out an APB on the MasterBlogger (remember him?) for a response. ???

Maybe he's got a bladder problem after midnite, too ;D The Nurse and I saw the water (Tempe Town Lake) flowing over the busted bladder around 10:30pm Tuesday on Channel 15. The anchors said "....stay tuned for late breaking coverage tomorrow morning at 5am..". At least KT'R doesn't make you wait 6 plus hours for "bladder breaking news"!

I think I was on KFYI when the damn dam broke and since it occurred during a half hour news segment, people were told that more on the breaking news on the damn would be available at the top of the hour. Then, every half hour since the event, I heard a brief snippet about it all night and morning through 10:00 am + on both KTAR and KFYI and how they had helicopters & people checking to see if everyone, including the transients who like to use certain portions of the lake as a "home to sleep", were ok.

Is the dam bladder burst where you are? Reporters are en route to the scene and a live report from Ed Phillips is coming up.....

What inquiring minds really want to know is: Did any stations play Led Zeppelin's "When The Levees Broke" during the initial news window? Someone should have put that on Robert Plant's set list when he was here same night. That would have been cool.

I think this calls for an investigation consisting of looking over the dam damage. This can be best accomplished by asking the dam tour guide to give us a dam tour. Also, for quality assurance purposes, be sure to take as many dam pictures of the dam damage as needed.

I see someone else remembers Hudson & Harrigan on KILT Houston in 1971
(as featured in Bootleg Top 40 Volume 1), doing a phoner with a guy from the
Wallisville Dam, which culminated in...

"Oh then you don't mind if we call back again later."

"Oh no, I don't give a dam(n)."

"Sir, watch your language! I'm shocked!"

;D
