KT'R TV Ad

When the time comes, I doubt Hill will be fired. I could see him being named VP of Talk Programming or something similar and heading back to SLC.

The harder this board is on Hill the more Bonneville will love him. I think it's pretty safe to believe that company and the people on this board don't see anything the same way.

I agree Bonneville doesn't care what is said on here. But how long do you think they will stay at bay before they expect to see some return on their Phoenix investments? And is Russ Hill the man who can guide KTAR to profits?

Mehbee the Old Gringo will share some 25-54 demos with us so we can tell how successful the Master Blogger has been in saving his dinosaur from the (k) tar pit. That's the real story for TMISU when it comes to making a decision on his future. As Nurse Jeff and I've stated through the years, we're too damned cheap to subscribe to Arbitron!

Question. Why should the powers at Bonneville care what is on this board?
Motives? We all share a thought or two at what could be done at KTAR.
If you're really employed in the business..do you think a local level programmer at Bonneville makes all the programming decisions?
A lot of questions I know, but be honest. If you are in the PD chair, and are directed to make certain decisions, maybe against your judgement, what are your choices?

Of all formats, news/talk or variations of same take the longest to develop and do well.
Just thoughts.

Anyone know how the station is doing in the revenue department?

Radio companies don't care about ratings. All they care about is $$$$$. I'm sure Bonneville is no different.

KTAR has raked in more revenue than all stations in the market for the last few years except KPKX and KMLE.

As a music radio guy I don't have a dog in the fight. But I gottsta say I must be listening to a different KTAR. That station used to sound older than my gramps.

I think even to a casual listener, the station sounds lost. They (the station and the listener) don't know who or what they are. Yes, they are the 800lb gorilla, and will continue to make money, but long term success and market domination depends on a clear, concise vision and the balls to execute that vision. They are up against one station in town, which I would assume has a fraction of the budget, yet they can't seem to gain any ground against them.

Ditto. The station sounded lost when it had Tony Snow, Ted Simmons, and Pat Mcmahon on the air. I tend to enjoy it a lot more now.
