KTRB-860 signs on with Talk Progamming Today?

Well it is now March 15TH. This is the day KTRB was supposed to sign on with regular talk programming. Their website is still "Under Construction".At this time as I write, Mancow is on. I was hoping they would stream their programming.
 
They went back to old air checks this afternoon. Tonight they are now playing a delayed feed of Glenn Beck. Glenn has a good personality except his views sound a lot like KSFO.

Possilbly we will hear their news on Friday.

Any other thought or opinions on KTRB's programing today?

That's the difference between running network talk shows and running a music for network or local. The network breaks for all theses avails and then the station needs 60 second spots to cover them. In the this case they don't want to sell shorter spots (like Clear Channel)becasue sometimes the break can be 4:00 min.

24-music formats run breaks but cover most of them with music. If you have a local talk host they still need to take a breath and catch up.

The KTRB sales staff will sell some local spots in time and there will be less PSAs.

I heard Glen Beck last night and he his a good actor, however his viewpoints sound so much like KSFO with some comedy added. Any thoughts on him?

I Liked the way London sounded today! Yesterday was a day full of Tech difficulties..... Monday S/B full swing!
 
God, most fascist radio, huh???

Why is there a need for more fascist radio, in one of the most liberal areas???

Why can't Mike Malloy be on a good-coverage AM station???

I think 1260 AM, should be bought by Nova M Radio.
 
I am curious, other than Mancow, Glenn Beck, Neal Boortz and John London, What other talk shows are on the new KTRB? Especially after 7:pM and on weekends? Are they running Joey Reynolds overnights? Any Infomercials or Brokered Programming?
 
If the audio quality of KTRB is not fixed, I kind of doubt many listeners will stick with it. The HD really brings out the distortion, and it is grating to my ears, even with the radio turned way down.

The music sounded fine in February (even if a channel was missing). So the net feeds are a problem,at least to me.

Content? Nothing much there, IMHO.

What's the line-up for KTRB right now? And is the website up now?
 
This line up is the best that KTRB can do? Pappas may as well sell it to Clear Channel because thats all this station is a clone of a Clear Channel station in any market in the USA! Loudmouth Mancow in the morning? He should just put a sock in it! Beck, another sock please, Boortz his name fits him well, London is so far out there he may as well be broadcasting from the moon. Truth Radio? How about calling it "The Mens Sports Talk Alternative." Give me my KGO.
 
For a major market station, the audio really sounds terrible. This is not going anywhere, I think. And in HD, the distortion is really horrible, clear as mud.
The audio clarity difference between KTRB and KGO is, well, night and day. KTRB is unlistenable.

And don't ask me about the programming.

I agree. I know nothing about the technical side of broadcasting sound, by I have ears. The audio on KTRB reminds me of the old radio network newscasts in the days before they were transmitted by satellite - it was by telephone line, I think. In any case, it was kind of fuzzy and was missing and the highs and lows
 
Seems like just about everytime I dare to tune by I end up hearing a PSA... Those folks at the "Ad Council" are really busy.
 
Jeez, this station sounds like it coming down a REALLY bad phone line. Pirate stations sound better than this! What's up with that?
 
I LOVE to see these bad comments about this stupid, fascist, radio station.

Now, no one will listen to this stupid, fascist station, and the program director will have no choice, but to get rid of "The Drunk Man" Glenn Beck, Neonazi Boortz, and "The Phone Jamming [EDIT]Ingrate, for Mike Malloy, and Randi Rhodes!!!
