KTRB SALE--GETTING CLOSE

Mediaace said:
Has Comerica Bank decided to pay the freight for propane to run KTRB at night again? It is currently Monday, December 13 at 6:11pm and they are coming in loud and clear here in Pleasanton 8 miles from their Sunol nighttime TX facility.

The prospective new owners, who live, work and play in (and near) San Francisco, may have picked up the tab to run the nighttime system in order to gauge its coverage and quality. It may be just a temporary thing for a few days.

(...Or it may not.)

Or a dark horse not mentioned in this thread may really end up with this station.

The dark horse, from all indications, will end up with the station. The dark horse does not use a white elephant as an element of its logo.

Given that there are supposedly three bidders and the goal of the receivership is to sell it off, I'm surprised that we haven't heard something by now. It must be a matter of price negotiation.

Who do I think is the odds-on favorite to buy 860 AM? I'd put a buck on these guys...

Did I say Multicultural? Did I use the word "Multicultural" anywhere in my post?

Inter City doesn't own KVTO. Urban Radio does. (Inner City did.)

I just noticed that the stations that Multicultural owned are on In-Language's website

Is In-Language the new name of Multicultural? Also I thought KVTO was owned by Inter City?

I don't think anybody has said In Language Radio owns any stations. They're a station rep. They represent stations to advertisers and other time buyers. As far as I know, Multicultural still owns its various stations.

Oh, and last I heard (July 2010), KBLX, KVTO and KVVN were still owned by Inner City (aka ICBC), the late Percy Sutton's company.

GOK about KRON. That whole thing looks like smoke and mirrors and creative financing.

I would be very surprised if KTRB wasn't sold very soon. The receivership should have no interest in continuing to run a radio station. Their sole mission is to dump the thing as soon as possible, and recover whatever money they can. Every day that they delay the sale means more lost money, and that is not acceptable in the long term.

They don't. But they will.

They will say it but that doesn't make it true. In Language Radio is a rep; they represent some of Multicultural's stations, but not all. They also rep for Inner City's KVTO, and others not owned by Multicultural.

I know who In Language is, DK. And I know what they do.

Really BRDJ your getting a bit flip in your old age! Who cares who buys that radio station anyway! It's not worth the gun powder to blow it to you know where! What's with this I know something you don't routine of your's anyway, your not impressing anyone with it! KTRB doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hades against KCBS, KNBR, KGO and the rest anyway! Which you know I'm sure already! It's just going to be another bayarea wasted radio signal like most of the rest.

The other night I heard an interview with the marketing manager for the A's (on Stanford's radio station - of all places) and one of the questions posed was "when are you going to get a radio station". He said "that's not my department, but we're considering options" or something like that. He also said that KTRB was a good outlet for them and he's hopeful things will work out & they would stay there. So it sounds like the A's consider it a possibility at least. They better get their act together, that's all I have to say. Baseball in a little over 2 months.

I got a weird one - wonder what if Mickey Luckoff decided he wanted to get someone to back him and..... Nah. Couldn't happen.

Dave B.

Gee I thought the only company close to making a deal for the station was In-Language?

Why would the marketing manager for the A's "NOT" be involved with getting a radio station for the A's?

What difference does any of it matter anyway? Family Radio's Mister Camping say's the world is going to end on May 21, 2011? Time to start packing our bags for the trip home to the happy hunting grounds! lol lol..

The law should be arresting him for scaring all those little old ladies and men, into donating all their hard earned savings.
